Frequently Asked Questions About Tutoring

How is the Tutoring Program different from regular Create & Learn classes?

Regular Create & Learn classes follow a pre-defined curriculum. While teachers may tailor specific lessons for each group, the overall course closely adheres to its curriculum. These are small group classes offered regularly across many subjects. Private lessons can also be requested.

The Tutoring Program is different:
Parents or students share their specific goals and needs with the tutor. The tutor then creates customized lessons and content (typically not from the standard Create & Learn curriculum). All tutoring sessions are private and personalized.

Should I book a regular Create & Learn class or a tutoring class?

It depends on the subject and your goals:

  • If your child is starting with Scratch, Python, Minecraft coding, or another subject from our core curriculum, it's best to start with our regular classes. These are built using expert-designed curricula, ideal for beginners.
See full list of courses here

  • If you're interested in subjects not offered in our regular curriculum (e.g., Math, PyGame, Photoshop), then tutoring is the right option.

  • If you've completed our regular classes and want to go deeper or work on a personal project, tutoring is also the best path.

What qualifications do tutors have in order to teach a specific subject?

All tutors must meet Create & Learn’s high teaching standards. Tutors also teach our regular coding classes and must have:

  • A strong track record in our classes
  • Proven subject qualifications, such as certifications, references, or transcripts
Can I choose a teacher for the tutoring class?

Yes. If you have a specific teacher in mind, email support@createandlearn.us to request them.

Otherwise, you can choose your class and time here, and we’ll show you available instructors based on your schedule.
