From the first time I got my hands on one, I’ve loved to play all sorts of video games. But more than that, I developed a fascination with how they were made. How on earth could we go from 1s and 0s to what I was looking at on the screen?!
Though I’m still working on that part, thankfully you don’t have to know how to make a computer from scratch to make a game! At 10 I discovered that even I was capable of making the same games that I enjoyed playing so much thanks to a site called Roblox, and it wasn’t until 4 years later that I really decided to give it a try.
Now, at 25, I have worked on a number of various projects to test and hone my skills and I am continuing to maintain a game that has been played by over 4.5 million different people! I suppose my only regret would be that I didn’t start earlier.
While I may not be able to go back in time, I still have the opportunity to help kids interested in making games just like me, get a head start in such an amazing field. Using the experiences I have learned I hope to help guide my students through all the hurdles I once went through and allow them to create some truly amazing projects in the future.
In this class we will use Roblox Studio to introduce User Interface (UI) and learn how we use it for game development. Along the way, we will design and create our own UI to use however we like.
Additionally, we will use block based coding with the Event Blocks plugin to make interactive UI that is able to receive input from the player to perform a task.

This class is ideal for students who would like to learn how to make UI in Roblox but lack the programming experience necessary to take either of the other two classes.
