I’ve always loved stories, art, and solving puzzles. With code I get to bring my characters to life, add motion to my art and use my problem solving skills to create new projects. When I teach I like to use the things my students love to encourage them to be as passionate about the projects as I am. With the training and experience I gained while obtaining my Masters degree in School Counseling I’ve learned to listen to what the students have to say and put the focus on each of their individualized ways of learning. As a former K-8 Art teacher I love to foster creative exploration into whatever peaks their interest. In addition to teaching with Create & Learn, I’m currently a Freelance Graphic Designer and Illustrator. My goal is to help students to appreciate the presence and importance of Design in their everyday lives.

Drawing - Christmas Themed

Grades 3-7
Learn to become more confident in your drawing skills. We'll practice drawing exercises and learn some techniques while still expressing our creativity. The examples in this class will be Christmas themed, but the skills are transferable to any future drawing!

Illustrator and Graphic Design

Grades 4-12
Students will learn the basics of Adobe Illustrator and design principles. You can use Illustrator to create anything from illustrations and graphics to logos. Adobe describes Illustrator as, "the industry standard design app that lets you capture your creative vision with shapes, color, effects, and typography. Work across desktop and mobile devices and quickly create beautiful designs that can go anywhere—print, web and apps, video and animations, and more."
