Quantum Physics for Kids

Learn foundational quantum physics concepts by exploring amazing inventions and scientific discoveries.

Our classes are designed to get kids excited about quantum physics and its impact on our lives! Quantum physics is the foundation of modern technology: electricity, solar energy, batteries, wifi, computers. Kids are naturally curious about these modern tools. An understanding of quantum physics opens doorways to STEM fields such as quantum computing, electrical engineering, biotechnology, astrophysics, material science and other growing industries.

Our courses incorporate a wide variety of sensory activities, including educational presentations, drawing activities, guided questions, short instructional videos and physical demonstrations. We vary activity type often to keep students engaged. Course curriculum is carefully structured to scaffold complex topics in supported stages. Refund Policy: Full refund before the camp begins. Once the camp starts, we can't provide refunds, but if your student misses a session (or sessions), we can try to coordinate a make-up in another section of the camp. Please message us to request make-up sessions.

Atom Secrets & The Periodic Table of Elements

  • This camp offers a fun and engaging introduction to the fields of Chemistry and Quantum Physics! The Atom Secrets Camp explores atoms, subatomic particles and the Periodic Table of Elements, over four 50-minute sessions (Mon-Thur or Tues-Fri). The course introduces students to 54 atomic elements, while exploring advanced concepts such as electron orbitals, covalent and ionic molecular bonds, and the structural organization of the Periodic Table. The course utilizes specially-designed cartoon Atom Cards (for atomic elements 1-54, provided as PDF handouts upon enrollment). In addition, printable full-color Review Handouts will be provided for each class session. Intro to Quantum Computing

  • Quantum Computing is an exciting new field being developed by scientists around the world. The National Science Foundation recently released a list of key Quantum Computing concepts recommended for children in K-12 grades as preparation for this up-and-coming industry. Incorporating these recommendations, this 4-session camp introduces students to the innovative approaches of quantum computing, while also comparing them to classical computing methods. Students will gain an understanding of traditional computing methods and newer quantum computing concepts, including qubits, superposition and entanglement. Electromagnetism Camp: Magnetism, Electricity, Photons and Solar Power

  • In this 4-session Electromagnetism Camp, students learn about the inner workings of atoms, magnetism, electricity, photons and solar power! Electromagnetism is one of the four fundamental forces of nature. This camp investigates the quantum physics of electromagnetism and energy, introducing students to key quantum physics concepts while connecting these concepts to amazing inventions that enable modern life, such as maglev transportation, magnetic induction electricity generation, X-rays and photovoltaic solar cells. Quantum Frontiers: Dark Matter, Dark Energy, Antimatter and the Standard Model of Particle Physics

  • Explore exciting frontiers of quantum physics theory and research, including dark matter, dark energy, antimatter and the Standard Model of Particle Physics! This 4-session camp introduces learners to intriguing concepts in quantum physics that represent some of the most cutting-edge areas of current scientific research. In addition, this course moves beyond the 3 most commonly-known subatomic particles (protons, neutrons and electrons) to discuss the 16 subatomic particles in the Standard Model (including quarks, leptons and bosons), which forms the theoretical framework used by modern physicists.
