DaShaun Hightower: 3D Artist/Instructor
I am a Brooklyn based 3D Artist experienced in building digital collateral for small and medium-sized businesses. I have experience in hard surface design, environment design, 3D apparel design, 3D footwear design and creating custom textures. I am an award-winning designer who has had the pleasure of being on several panels discussing the importance of 3D. I am looking forward to working with each scholar on letting their imagination run wild and create unique 3D experiences.
- Grades 5-12
In this course scholars will get a more in depth understanding of how to create their own characters from base models. Scholars will come prepared with a sketch or reference images to create their own characters. This is an intensive course that gives scholars the tools to create dynamic models.
We will focus on:
Manipulating vertices, sides, and faces
Hard surface design
Using modifiers
Rendering settings (Eevee vs Cycles)
UV Unwrapping
- 60 minutes per session4 Sessions
- $175 (4 Sessions)
- 2-4 students group class
- It is recommended that scholars complete the 3D Artist Pathway: Modeling Basics course before registering for this class.
- Grades 5-12
Have you ever wanted to create your own 3D model but didn't know where to start?
In 3D Artist Pathway: Modeling Basics scholars will get an entry level introduction into 3d modeling. In this 4-part class we will learn:
-How to navigate Blender (edit mode vs. object mode, rendering views, toolbox essentials)
-How to manipulate base models (scale, move, rotate)
-Material Application
-Basic light setups
This class is ideal for anyone with a curiosity to learn more about 3D modeling. After learning the basics students will be tasked with creating their own custom robot. They will model their own base meshes; apply custom materials and create their own experience. This class is a perfect building block to start exploring other courses such as:
Character development
Material Development
Animation Basics
3D Artist Capsule
- 55 minutes per session4 Sessions
- $175 (4 Sessions)
- 2-6 students group class
- Grades 4-12
This amazing class is an into to 3D Artist Pathway: Modeling Basics. Scholars will dive into Blender and used skills learned to modify a robot.
-How to manipulate base models (scale, move, rotate)
-Material Application
- 60 minutesSingle Session
- $50 (Single Session)

- This is a course that would require the scholar to download the platform LenStudio prior to the class session.https://ar.snap.com/download
- Grades 5-12
In this course Scholars will build off of skills acquired in Modeling Basics to create their own personalized materials. This is an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of what makes a successful material.
Topics covered include:
Elements of art: scale, contrast, color theory,
Manipulating the material tab to produce materials with specialized effects (metalics, neon, transparent)
Intro to shader nodes
Intro to geometry nodes
- 60 minutes per session4 Sessions
- $149 (4 Sessions)
- 2-5 students group class
