For a limited time, Angie Yuan, the Mathnasium Multi-Center Owner (Bay Area and Seattle) is offering a 4-session back-to-school camp for children that focus on the topics that are the basics for all elementary school students: multiplication, fractions, and decimals.

  • Grades 4-6
  • Decimals are the extension of Fractions and an important part of our base ten number system. We use decimals every day while dealing with money, weight, length etc. Let's learn the decimals and explore how decimals works in the real world so your children are ready to take on the new concept and achieve mastery sooner than they need to! Disclaimer: This 4-session camp is an introduction to the topic of decimals. The knowledge of application of decimals will take multiple years to deepen and master.

  • Prerequisites: Mastery of fractions concepts, computation and application. For students outside of the recommended grade levels, please contact the organizer to confirm.

  • Grades 3-5
  • Many students can add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. Their computation is competent, but do they really understand fractions? Starting in 4th grade, fractions can be the make or break topic for future success with math. This camp will introduce the concepts of fractions, including topics such as naming fractions, equivalent fractions, halves, quarters, parts and wholes. Disclaimer: This 4-session camp is an introduction to the topic of fractions. The knowledge and application of fractions will take multiple years to deepen and master.

  • 2-8 students group class
  • Prerequisites: Multiplication Fact Fluency, can effortless recall the times table up to 12x12 within 3-5 seconds for each fact. For students outside of the recommended grade levels, please contact the organizer to confirm.

  • Grades 2-4
  • Learning multiplication facts is a critical part of math development in children. Many key concepts, such as long division and fraction, depend on mastery of multiplication facts: the 0-12 times tables. This camp teaches multiplication by starting with the understand the meaning of multiplication. Then we help students learn the easier tables before moving on to the harder ones. Students learn to see the patterns from easier numbers like 1s, 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s, to 4s and 9s, then the hardest 6s, 7s, and 8s. Disclaimer: This 4-session camp is an introduction to the topic of multiplication. Students will need months of practice before mastering the entire times table up to 12x12.

  • Prerequisites: Addition and Subtraction Fact Fluency up to 20. No observation of finger counting of any sort (one by one counting). For students outside of the recommended grade levels, please contact the organizer to confirm.
