From Mars and aliens, to galaxies and rockets, space fascinates many kids and adults alike, and is the source of powerful imaginations. In this series of award-winning online space classes led live by an expert, your kids will learn a wide range of topics related to space science, NASA, and practice other STEM skills. All classes are project based to encourage curiosity and develop problem solving skills, and follow a curriculum designed by professionals from Google, Stanford, and MIT. In each session, kids (grades K-2) learn cool new things about space and science, then build small projects and play games to have fun and strengthen their learning.
In this series of free virtual events from Create & Learn, your kids (grades 2-10) will learn from NASA & Space top experts. Discover everything from how NASA collects asteroid rock and brings it back to Earth, to how they explore evidence of past microbial life on Mars, to how they rescued a NASA spacecraft a million times farther away than the space station. These NASA & Space experts will also share their own stories regarding pursuing a career in space, as well as their advice and even some opportunities for students who are passionate about this area. As just one example, learn from Marc Rayman, the chief engineer for mission operations and science at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the chief engineer of the Psyche mission.
Our world is constantly changing, and robotics for kids are at the forefront of this change. In this robotics class for students in grades 4-8, your child will learn how to design, build, and code their very own robots online. Kids will explore the design and creation process, as well as coding and learning how to move the robots, use sensors, control robot arms, and control robots to complete various challenges that simulate real world robotics competitions. If your child enjoys building things, playing Legos, or wants to join a robotics or space science team, this is the class for them!
This camp is recommended for students interested in expanding their knowledge of space programs, developing their own space projects and one day doing an internship with NASA. In this exciting four-part course students are introduced to key space missions, careers and NASA mentors which will inspire the students on their paths to one day working in the aerospace industry. Travel through the solar system and beyond and learn about the real people who do amazing space jobs ( engineers, scientists, astronauts etc). Discuss past, current and future space missions including the Artemis missions to the moon, the Perseverance Mars Rover, Voyager, the discovery of exoplanets, CubeSats, upcoming missions to Europa and Titan. Students will be given tips on how to go about applying for NASA internships and will be provided opportunities to connect directly with NASA specialists/mentors.
NASA offers a variety of online activities and challenges for students of all ages. NASA's Space Place website engages upper-elementary-aged children in space and Earth science through interactive games, hands-on activities, fun articles, and short videos. Discover our scientific, cultural, and personal understanding of Earth’s nearest natural neighbor with the Explore Marvel Moon program, which will acquaint you NASA's investigations into the ongoing saga that has shaped our Moon.
