The Moon is a crucial stepping stone for deep space missions, serving as a testing ground for advanced technologies and human survival strategies needed for Mars and beyond. It may also become a future base for space exploration. U.S., India, Japan, and China all made successfully lunar landings in recent years.

This week, the United States is making history with two lunar landers touching down on the Moon. Both missions are part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program, which partners with commercial providers to advance lunar exploration.

On March 2nd, Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost successfully landed on the Moon! And today, in just a few hours, the second Moon landing is set to take place! Athena, by Intuitive Machines, is scheduled to touch down around 9:32 a.m. PT. Last year, Intuitive Machines made history by successfully landing the first commercial lunar lander on the Moon. Now, they’re aiming to do it again! Learn More:
