Designing in Roblox Studio will help students develop design thinking and coding skills. Additionally, kids will learn engineering skills like quality assurance through the testing process prior to deployment of their project. Create your own Roblox games for kids

Ultimately, the best way to use Roblox for educational purposes is for kids to build and code their own games. Game creation through Roblox Studio, as mentioned above, lets kids exercise their creativity and stretch their programming skills. Combining Roblox tools with user generated content, your child can develop an interactive experience all their own, and share it with their friends and the general web. Roblox games can also be cross platform, meaning they can be played on a variety of consoles and devices.

Parent's guide to Roblox games for kids

Unlike many online video games, Roblox was originally designed for young kids with privacy and security in mind. It is easier to ensure your children are being  responsible online using Roblox’s system than in many other programs. Here are some key tips to ensuring your kids are getting the most out of Roblox while also staying safe:

  • Turn on parental controls: consider using parental controls to turn off chat, or limit it to friends only. Don’t forget to set a PIN to ensure that your students can’t re-enable chat.
  • Have you children play Roblox in shared spaces in the house, where you can monitor their usage.
  • Be careful allowing your students to access social media. Several games have links to exterior social media sites, which may not be suitable for younger children.
  • For more tips, see Roblox’s page on parental options.

Is Roblox kid friendly? Is there a Roblox game for younger kids?

Yes, Roblox is kid friendly. The platform was designed explicitly for younger students, and thus online risk is minimal. We recommend parents do follow some of the steps listed above with respect to parental controls for maximum security.
